Mathematics, due to its content and subject-specific features, is a field of science that provides broad opportunities for developing students’ research activities. In the process of training specialists in the field of construction, the formation of research skills is an essential component of professional competence. At present, the changes in the content and methodology of education make the development of research abilities among students of technical universities particularly relevant.
Graduates of technical universities must be able to effectively perform professional tasks at enterprises of various types and levels in the fields of production and construction. This requires the use of modern pedagogical technologies in teaching mathematics, including the project-based method. The project-based method is aimed at developing students’ creative and research abilities, as well as enhancing their skills in independent thinking and decision-making. The application of the project-based method in teaching mathematics helps increase the cognitive activity of future engineers, allows them to express their own opinions, and encourages a critical approach to professional issues.
The purpose of the study is to develop a project-based methodological system aimed at forming the research activities of future construction specialists in the process of learning mathematics and to determine its effectiveness. For future specialists in the construction industry, mathematical knowledge and skills play a particularly important role in solving professional tasks of a research nature. They must be able to correctly apply mathematical principles, formulas, and calculation methods in analyzing, computing, and modeling the qualitative and physical properties of construction materials. Therefore, the use of the project-based method enables students to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience, systematically develop research skills, and enhance their level of professional readiness.
