This article provides a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the impact of using artificial intelligence (AI) tools in computer science classes in Kazakhstani schools on students’ learning motivation, cognitive engagement, and overall academic achievement. The study includes an in-depth review of national and international scientific publications related to the topic and examines the key directions and current challenges associated with integrating AI technologies into educational practice.
The main purpose of the work is to demonstrate, through concrete data, how the use of artificial intelligence in the learning process can enhance students’ interest in computer science, improve their level of subject mastery, and contribute to a steady increase in academic performance.
Drawing on research by domestic and foreign scholars, scientific literature, as well as their own pedagogical experience, the authors thoroughly analyze the influence of widely used AI tools on students’ motivation, their potential to improve the quality of education, and their role in fostering personalized learning. The article also highlights the advantages of AI technologies in developing students’ creative abilities, strengthening logical and critical thinking skills, enhancing knowledge visualization, and improving their capacity to solve real-world problems.
In addition to presenting practical examples of integrating AI tools into the educational process, the article describes effective pedagogical methods, approaches to implementation, and offers a detailed discussion of possible risks, limitations, and ways to mitigate them. The results of a pedagogical experiment conducted by the authors clearly show that the use of AI technologies led to an average 21% improvement in academic performance and increased learning motivation to 76%.
Furthermore, the article emphasizes the importance of anticipating potential challenges, conducting ongoing self-monitoring, and performing systematic analysis when integrating AI into computer science lessons. The authors conclude that artificial intelligence can offer significant opportunities for improving educational quality, fostering student engagement, and developing essential 21st-century skills-provided that its integration into the school education system is carried out responsibly, thoughtfully, and on a sound pedagogical basis.
