This article examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of gender tolerance formation within the framework of contemporary science. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to overcome gender stereotypes and foster a culture of equality in the context of ongoing social transformation. Particular attention is paid to the role of education as a key social institution that promotes the development of values such as respect, acceptance, and cooperative interaction among representatives of different gender groups.
The paper analyzes philosophical, psychological, and pedagogical approaches to understanding the concepts of “gender,” “tolerance,” and “gender tolerance.” The main components of gender tolerance are identified as cognitive, emotional, and behavioral. The study presents the conceptual foundations and a model for the development of gender tolerance based on person-centered, dialogical, and gender-sensitive approaches. It also describes tools and methods for fostering tolerant interaction, including interactive teaching methods, training technologies, discussions, and reflective practices.
The empirical part of the research is based on the results of a large-scale survey involving 200 respondents from various regions of Kazakhstan. The findings indicate the persistence of traditional gender attitudes alongside growing support for the ideas of gender equality among young people and individuals with higher levels of education. The study concludes that education serves as a crucial factor in the formation of gender culture and in reducing the level of gender prejudice in society.
