The article examines the current field of linguistics – media linguistics, dedicated to the study of the language of mass media. The author classifies and describes the means of speech influence in media texts, highlighting the main functions of speech and methods of influence. The main focus is on basic methods such as interpreting events, reasoned commentary, interpreting key concepts, and putting forward text fragments. Additionally, linguistic and stylistic methods of influence on the graphic-phonetic, morphological-syntactic and lexical levels of the language are considered. In practical terms, this article offers not only a theoretical understanding of the means of speech influence in media texts, but also specific methods and techniques that can be used in the analysis and creation of media texts. The importance of such an analysis is emphasized due to the influence of the media on public opinion and the formation of perception. The classification of methods and techniques facilitates the systematization of knowledge in this field, which is useful for linguists, journalists and anyone who works with media text.
