APPLICATION OF BLOCKCHAIN IN EDUCATION MANAGEMENT FOR STUDENT ATTENDANCE AND ASSESSMENT

This study explores the potential application of blockchain technology in the educational environment, with a focus on the case of Astana International University (Kazakhstan). The aim is to determine how decentralized solutions can enhance the reliability of student attendance tracking and grading systems, while overcoming the limitations of traditional platforms such as Moodle.
The central idea of the research lies in integrating blockchain-based innovations with the pressing needs of educational institutions. The practical significance of the study is reflected in its potential to strengthen trust in academic outcomes, increase transparency of procedures, and reduce dependency on human factors.
Methodologically, the study is grounded in a qualitative approach, employing semi-structured interviews with students and faculty members, along with a comparative analysis of existing systems. To illustrate potential improvements, conceptual frameworks were developed to demonstrate how an attendance and grading system could operate on a distributed ledger.
The findings indicate that blockchain can ensure data immutability and integrity, improve the efficiency of organizational processes, and automate routine tasks. At the same time, several challenges were identified, including the need for user adaptation, the complexity of technical integration, and issues related to data privacy.
Overall, the study confirms the considerable potential of blockchain technologies for modernizing educational infrastructure. Its scholarly value lies in contributing to the understanding of digital transformation in education, while its practical importance is associated with the development of innovative systems aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in higher education institutions.
